Cumplimiento de las actividades del cuidador primario en la atención a pacientes oncológicos en etapa terminal del hospital de SOLCA-Guayaquil.

La fase paliativa de pacientes oncológicos requiere de un acompañamiento familiar o de personas capacitadas para satisfacer las necesidades. Se realiza un estudio sobre cumplimiento de actividades del cuidador primario. Objetivo: Determinar el cumplimiento de las actividades del cuidador primario en la atención a pacientes oncológicos en la etapa terminal. Diseño Metodológico: es un estudio descriptivo, de enfoque cuantitativo, prospectivo y transversal, se utilizó la encuesta y observación indirecta para recoger los datos, se realizó en 100 cuidadores primarios y pacientes oncológicos en fase paliativa Resultados.- En cuanto a los cuidadores primarios 78% fueron mujeres, el 35% eran hijos/as, el 86% tenía instrucción académica secundaria, 99% no tenía personal de apoyo. En cuanto al conocimiento del cuidador el 100% no conoce las preocupaciones del paciente, sin embargo, conoce sobre higiene, alimentación adecuada, controles médicos y acceso a los servicios de salud. El 84% de los cuidadores realiza cumple con la higiene y confort del paciente, 63% suministra complementos alimentarios, el 100% administran analgésicos, el 76% realizaba ejercicios pasivos, el 36% suministra los dispositivos móviles para el ocio y distracción. Según los factores que interrumpen el cuidado al paciente, el 87% presentaba dificultades con la movilización, el 100% opina que hay insuficiencias en cuanto a la información sobre la patología y guía para el cuidador. En cuanto los pacientes el 35% presentó cáncer de mama y de cuello de útero, el 100% recibió quimioterapia, el 96% presentó discapacidad motriz. Conclusiones.- Existe poco cumplimiento de actividades de atención por la falta de información y condiciones de movilidad.
The palliative phase of cancer patients requires family support or people trained to meet the needs. A study on compliance with activities of the primary caregiver is carried out. Objective: To determine the fulfillment of the activities of the primary caregiver in the care of cancer patients in the terminal stage. Methodological Design: it is a descriptive study, with a quantitative, prospective and cross-sectional approach, the survey and indirect observation were used to collect the data, it was carried out in 100 primary caregivers and cancer patients in the palliative phase. Results.- As for the primary caregivers 78 % were women, 35% were children, 86% had secondary academic education, 99% had no support staff. Regarding the knowledge of the caregiver, 100% do not know the patient's concerns, however, they know about hygiene, adequate nutrition, medical controls and access to health services. 84% of the caregivers comply with the hygiene and comfort of the patient, 63% provide food supplements, 100% administer analgesics, 76% perform passive exercises, 36% provide mobile devices for leisure and distraction. According to the factors that interrupt patient care, 87% presented difficulties with mobilization, 100% believe that there are insufficiencies in terms of information on the pathology and guidance for the caregiver. As soon as 35% of the patients presented breast and cervical cancer, 100% received chemotherapy, 96% presented motor disability. Conclusions.- There is little compliance with care activities due to the lack of information and mobility conditions.
