Introducción: la enfermedad periodontal se inicia muy temprano en la vida del individuo, como se evidencia en los distintos tipos de gingivitis observada en niños. Propósito: El propósito del presente trabajo es evaluar el estado de salud periodontal en niños con dentición mixta si está relacionada al peso corporal del niño. Materiales y métodos: este estudio correspondió a una investigación clínica de tipo transversal Analítico y descriptivo. La muestra está conformada por 61 pacientes entre 6 a 10 años de edad del Semestre B 2019 que presentaran mínimo 1 sitio activo de sangrado al sondaje y acúmulo de placa bacteriana, presenten dentición mixta. Resultados: se observó que los pacientes con peso normal tanto en hombres como mujeres prevaleció enfermedad periodontal con un 56,67% con un porcentaje de sobrepeso con un porcentaje de 33,33% y por ultimo pacientes con bajo peso en un 10%. Conclusión: En este estudio se concluyó que el peso normal prevaleció en la enfermedad periodontal en niños.

The sample is made up of 61 patients between 6 and 10 years of age in semester B 2019 who present a minimum of 1 active site of bleeding to the probing and acoustic of bacterial plaque, present mixed dentition. Results: it was determined that patients with normal weight in both men and women prevailed periodontal disease with 56.67% with a percentage of overweight with a percentage of 33.33% and finally patients with low weight in 10%. Conclusion: In this study it was concluded that weight prevailed normally in periodontal disease in children.
