La presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar los factores que inciden en la segmentación laboral de Guayaquil antes y durante del Covid-19 con la finalidad de contribuir con políticas económica que busquen aumentar el nivel de empleo pleno, que se procederá a realizar mediante un método econométrico llamado Probit, para ejecutar los mencionados modelos se tomaron como variables independientes de estudio los siguientes como lo son el sexo, ingreso mensual, COVID 19, tipo de contrato laboral, nivel educativo, jefe de hogar, horas de trabajo, genero, sector al que pertenece. Las variables dependientes sin duda fueron segmento formal, segmento informal y el desempleo, mediante el cálculo de las variables se evidencio que el sector con menos ocupación de mujeres en Guayaquil fue la del empleo formal, mientras que el sector informal ocupado por hombres, mujeres y personas de tercera edad se encuentra mayormente demandado, sin embargo, el desempleo también toma una parte importante dentro de la investigación por sus cifras muy altas, ademas el desempleo tuve major acogida por la pandemia conocida como Covid ya que esto dejo a muchas personas sin empleo formal e informal.
The objective of this research is to determine the factors that affect the labor segmentation of Guayaquil before and during the Covid-19 in order to contribute with economic policies that seek to increase the level of full employment, which will be carried out through an econometric method called Probit, to execute the aforementioned models the following were taken as independent study variables, such as sex, monthly income, COVID 19, type of employment contract, educational level, head of household, hours of work, gender, sector to which belongs. The dependent variables were undoubtedly the formal segment, the informal segment, and unemployment; by calculating the variables, it was evidenced that the sector with the least occupation of women in Guayaquil was formal employment, while the informal sector occupied by men, women and Seniors are mostly in demand, however, unemployment also plays an important part in the investigation due to its very high figures, in addition, unemployment was better received by the pandemic known as Covid since this left many people without jobs formal and informal.
