Apoyo social percibido y nivel de sobrecarga del cuidador primario de pacientes con accidente cerebrovascular

Objectives: to determine the burden level experienced by primary caregivers of stroke patients and to analyze the correlation that exists between perceived social support and burden level. Method: Quantitative, cross-sectional nonexperimental study. The scope of the study will be descriptive and correlational. Sample: 40 primary caregivers will be contacted through convenience sampling. Results: the study will provide information which can contribute to the exploration of alternatives that serve to reduce the level of overload experienced by the primary caregiver. During the execution of the project, Ministry of Health databases were examined, and no evidence could be found of the implementation of plans or programs directed specifically toward the primary caregiver in Ecuador, which shows that at the institutional level, no inclusive health policies have yet been generated. Conclusions: The project's approach has revealed that there is a need for further studies and research on the subject, while also highlighting the importance of implementing actions and interventions designed to benefit this population. This research aims to contribute to the literature on the subject and thereby widen the platform from which evidencebased interventions can be developed.
Objetivos: determinar el nivel de sobrecarga experimentado por el cuidador primario de pacientes con ACV y analizar la relación que existe entre el apoyo social percibido y dicho nivel de sobrecarga. Método: Enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental transversal. El alcance del estudio será descriptivo y correlacional. Muestra: 40 cuidadores primarios serán contactados mediante un muestreo de conveniencia. Resultados: El estudio permite obtener información la cual puede contribuir en la exploración de alternativas que sirvan para reducir el nivel de sobrecarga experimentado por el cuidador primario. La búsqueda en las bases de datos nacionales no arrojó información con respecto a la implementación de planes o programas dirigidos directamente al cuidador primario, lo que demuestra que a nivel institucional todavía no se han generado políticas de salud incluyentes. Conclusiones: El planteamiento del proyecto ha revelado que es importante contar con estudios e investigaciones referentes al tema, y a su vez ha dejado ver la necesidad de efectivizar acciones e intervenciones que estén destinadas a beneficiar a esta población. Esta investigación pretende contribuir al conocimiento de la temática para proveer una plataforma desde la cual se puedan desarrollar intervenciones basadas en evidencia.
