One of the problems of young generation in Ecuador in the present is the lack of interest in their traditions, which derives from little interest in reading in general. The legends are part of all cultures and this project is aimed at awakening the interest of young people in the Ecuadorian culture through highlighting the little-known, especially in the Sierra of Ecuador, legends from the Coast. This approach of project is an adaptation of the “Whistling of Devil” legend to the comic which contains some animation in order to depict, through the means of folklore tale, montubios from the province of Manabí and their beliefs. In order to discover how much people know about the legends and traditions of the province of Manabí and the importance of devil´s image in its folklore, a study was carried out in a group of students who come from different parts of the country to Universidad de las Americas, (UDLA) Quito, Ecuador. As a result of this work, a comic will be spread through a web page, accessible both from a computer and various mobile devices, for public use.
Unos de los problemas en la actualidad, es la falta de interés por las tradiciones de Ecuador, que se deriva de poco interés en la lectura en general. Las leyendas forman parte de todas las culturas y este proyecto está orientado a despertar el interés de los jóvenes en la cultura ecuatoriana, resaltando las leyendas de la costa del Ecuador poco conocidas, principalmente en la región de la Sierra del país. En el proyecto se abordará una adaptación de la leyenda el Silbido del Diablo al cómic con algunos fragmentos de animación. Se procurará mostrar la imagen y creencias del montubio de la provincia de Manabí a través del folklore costeño. Mediante un estudio realizado en un grupo de estudiantes de la Universidad de las Américas, provenientes de diversas partes del país, se pretende descubrir el nivel de su conocimiento sobre las leyendas y tradiciones de la provincia de Manabí e importancia de la imagen del diablo dentro de su folklore. El resultado de este trabajo será un cómic que se difundirá a través de una página web a la cual se podrá acceder tanto desde un ordenador como distintos dispositivos móviles.
