The present research project contemplates a very important topic within tourism which focuses on religious tourism as a cultural attraction of the cantons of Guaranda, Chimbo and San Miguel of the Bolivar province in the 2019 period. For this it was necessary to formulate a general objective and three specific coherent to the variables of the problem that is to say oriented to the elaboration of the theoretical framework for which the studies of some authors related to the subject of investigation had to be selected. Regarding the methodology, it was developed according to the epistemological perspective where it is described: the bibliographic modality, research techniques (surveys, observation), validity and reliability of the investigative instruments for the execution of the work and information processing. It was possible to perform the analysis and interpretation of the results obtained during the investigative process such as the surveys aimed at the populations of Guaranda, Chimbo and San Miguel of the Bolivar province, the direct observation in the place of the facts, conclusions, recommendations and annexes. The preparation of this document involves the elaboration of chapters that are part of the research project, which allows us to link several ideas and concepts of authors who have developed throughout their lives a myriad of scientific studies on fundamental issues that we must know today. El presente proyecto de investigación contempla un tema muy importante dentro del turismo el cual enfoca al turismo religioso como un atractivo cultural de los cantones de Guaranda, Chimbo y San Miguel de la provincia Bolívar en el periodo 2019. Para ello fue necesario formular un objetivo general y tres específicos coherentes a las variables del problema es decir orientado a la elaboración del marco teórico para lo cual se tuvo que seleccionar los estudios de algunos autores relacionados con la materia de investigación. En cuanto a la metodología se desarrolló de acuerdo a la perspectiva epistemológica donde se describe: la modalidad bibliográfica, técnicas de investigación (encuestas, observación), validez y confiabilidad de los instrumentos investigativos para la ejecución del trabajo y procesamiento de la información. Se logró realizar el análisis e interpretación de los resultados obtenidos durante el proceso investigativo como las encuestas dirigidas a las poblaciones de Guaranda, Chimbo y San Miguel de la provincia Bolívar, la observación directa en el lugar de los hechos, conclusiones, recomendaciones y anexos. La preparación de este documento implica la elaboración de capítulos que forman parte del proyecto de investigación, lo cual nos permite enlazar varias ideas y conceptos de autores que han desarrollado a lo largo de su vida un sinfín de estudios científicos sobre temas fundamentales que hoy debemos conocer.
