This Project titled: Knowledge of the Clinical Triage Guide of Manchester by the Professional Staff of Nursing of the Emergency Service of the Basic Hospital Iess, Guaranda, Provincia Bolívar, during the period May - October 2017. Objective: To evaluate the level of Knowledge of the Clinical Practical Guide of Triage of Manchester by the Professional Staff of Nursing of the Emergency Service of the Basic Hospital IESS Guaranda. Methods: A questionnaire was applied to 12 nursing graduates responsible for the Triage area. Design: The present study is descriptive - transversal. Results: Of 12 Nurses, the average age of the respondents was 8 out of 12 graduated more than 6 years ago, 60% worked for more than 6 years in the hospital, and 50% had less than 1 year in Triage. 92% do not know the definition of the terms urgency and emergency, 100% say they know that it is the MTS, but only 58% describes the contents or components of said system. 83% only partially know what the Triage's functions are. It was established that not all the human talent responsible for the Triage made the right decision at the time of referral of the patients and the training plan was developed and socialized to the nursing staff in the application of the Triage System of Manchester. Conclusions: It was analyzed the non-compliance of most of the procedural aspects that are included in the algorithms in the MTS application, which are components of the decision flowchart. The level of knowledge about the clinical practice guide of the Manchester Triage in nursing staff is insufficient both in the theoretical content and in the implementation of the procedures and aspects that affect the quality of the service and can compromise the health of the patients. Finally, a training and knowledge enhancement plan was developed for nurses according to the rules of the Triage system in Manchester. (MTS), through the socialization of the algorithm.
El presente Proyecto de Titulación denominado: Conocimiento de la Guía Práctica Clínica de Triage de Manchester por el Personal Profesional de Enfermería del Servicio de Emergencia del Hospital Básico IESS, Guaranda, Provincia Bolívar, durante el Periodo Mayo – Octubre 2017. Objetivo: Evaluar el nivel de Conocimiento de la Guía Práctica Clínica de Triage de Manchester por el Personal Profesional de Enfermería del Servicio de Emergencia del Hospital Básico IESS Guaranda. Métodos: Se aplicó un cuestionario a 12 Licenciadas en Enfermería responsables del área de Triage. Diseño: El presente estudio es de carácter descriptivo - transversal. Resultados: De 12 Enfermeras, La edad promedio de las encuestadas fue de 8 de cada 12 son graduadas hace más de 6 años, el 60% labora más de 6 años en el hospital, y el 50% tiene menos de 1 año en Triage. El 92 % desconoce la definición de los términos urgencia y emergencia, el 100% dice conocer que es el MTS, pero solo el 58 % describe los contenidos o componentes de dicho sistema. El 83 % conoce solo parcialmente cuales son las funciones del Triage. Se estableció que no todo el talento humano responsable del Triage toma la decisión correcta al momento de la derivación de los pacientes y se elaboró el plan de capacitación y se socializó al personal de enfermería en la aplicación del Sistema de Triage de Manchester. Conclusiones:Se analizo el incumplimiento de la mayor parte de los aspectos procedimentales que constan en los algoritmos en la aplicación del MTS, y que son componentes del flujograma de decisión. El nivel de conocimiento sobre la guía práctica clínica del Triage de Manchester en el personal de enfermería es insuficiente tanto en el contenido teórico, como puesta en práctica de los procedimientos y aspectos que afectan la calidad del servicio y pueden comprometer la salud de los pacientes. Finalmente se elaboró un plan de capacitación y reforzamiento de conocimientos para el personal de enfermería acorde las normas del sistema de Triage de Mánchester.
