Analyze the application of story reading, didactic strategy for the development of the vocabulary of children of Initial Level II; to consider the reading of the story for the development of the vocabulary that allows to express thoughts, emotions and experiences in the children of initial level; deduct the level of increases and limitations in the development of vocabulary with story reading as a teaching strategy in the classroom that contributes to the development of comprehension and vocabulary; as well as establishing a strategy for teachers to adopt a permanent and effective culture of the pedagogical process with story reading, as a didactic resource that facilitates the development of vocabulary at the initial level, were the objectives of the research, this because There is a low level of comprehension of the students when listening to the reading of texts, as well as insufficient strategies that the teachers use for the development of the vocabulary, and a limited accompaniment of the parents. Methodology: The research focus was qualitative of explanatory type, the population considered were the 26 children of sub-level II, the applied instrument was the test and re-test. Results: The application of the test allowed recognizing the difficulties for vocabulary development, intervention prior to retest and its easy application to determine that the child: recognized the name of the story, identified characters, identified facts, recognized actions of actors, identifies places, builds and express messages. Conclusion: The interest of the children to hear and listen to the story, allowed to appreciate some qualities, among them: a quick action was generated in the children, highlighting the importance of the enjoyment of listening to stories. Analizar la aplicación de la lectura de cuentos estrategia didáctica para desarrollo del vocabulario de niños del Nivel Inicial II; considerar la lectura del cuento para el desarrollo del vocabulario que permita expresar pensamientos, emociones y experiencias en los niños de nivel inicial; deducir el nivel de incrementos y limitaciones en el desarrollo de vocabulario con la lectura de cuentos como estrategia didáctica en el aula que contribuye al desarrollo de comprensión y vocabulario; así como también establecer una estrategia para que los docentes adopten una cultura permanente y eficaz del proceso pedagógico con lectura de cuento, como un recurso didáctico que facilite el desarrollo del vocabulario en el nivel inicial, fueron los objetivos de la investigación, esto debido a que existe poco nivel de comprensión de los estudiantes al escuchar lectura de textos, a si también insuficiente estrategias que utilizan los docentes para el desarrollo del vocabulario, y un limitado acompañamiento de padres. Metodología. El enfoque de investigación fue cualitativo de tipo explicativo, la población considerada fueron los 26 niños del subnivel II, el instrumento aplicado fue el test y re-test. Resultados. La aplicación del test permitió reconocer las dificultades para desarrollo de vocabulario, intervención previa al re-tes y a su aplicación facilito determinar que el niño: reconoció el nombre del cuento, identificó personajes, se identificó hechos, reconoció acciones de actores, identifica lugares, construye y expresa mensajes. Conclusión: El interés de los niños por oír y escuchar la lectura del cuento, permitió apreciar algunas cualidades, entre estas: se generó una rápida acción en los niños, destacando la importancia el disfrute al escuchar cuentos.
