Evaluación del efecto de protectores sobre la producción y calidad del banano en el recinto Pailón, Chacarita del cantón Ventanas, provincia de los Ríos

La producción mundial de banano se estima que alcanza los 41 millones de TM al año con una superficie de 2'159.218 has. Este cultivo se inició en el Ecuador hace más de 40 años, siendo un factor importante en el desarrollo agropecuario del país. Dentro de este cultivo los parámetros de calidad son claves para los consumidores, siendo necesario implementar métodos de protección a la fruta mediante la utilización de protectores, los cuales están fabricados por una lámina de polietileno de celda cerrada. Esta investigación se realizó en la Finca Tropical con un tipo de suelo franco arenoso y una altitud de 10.3 msnm. Este ensayo se realizó en una plantación establecida de banano variedad Cavendish con una edad de 10 años. Los objetivos fueron: i) Determinar la influencia de los discos protectores en la prevención de daños físicos de las manos de los racimos de banano hasta su cosecha y embalaje. ii) Realizar el análisis económico de la relación beneficio costo. Se aplicó un Diseño de Bloques Completos al azar con 4 tratamientos y 4 Repeticiones los tratamientos fueron: T1: Protectores ovalados 3 mm; T2: Protectores ovalados 4 mm; T3: Daypa y T4: Testigo. Se realizaron análisis de varianza, pruebas de Tukey al 5% y económico. Los principales resultados obtenidos en esta investigación fueron: Los efectos de los tres tipos de protectores utilizados en esta investigación demostraron un efecto similar para las variables agronómicas, pero si contribuyeron a la calidad sanitaria de la fruta. El rendimiento promedio más alto de banano, se registró en el tratamiento T2 (Discos protectores 4 mm) con 2700 cajas/ha/año. El promedio más alto de manos aprovechables/racimo y mayor sanidad se presentó en el T2 (Protector 4 mm) con 9 manos aprovechables/racimo y el 99% de sanidad. Económicamente el mejor tratamiento fue el T2 (Disco protector 4 mm) con una R B/C de ,95 y una rentabilidad del 95%. Finalmente esta investigación contribuyó a mejorar el aprovechamiento de la fruta a través de la protección del racimo, mediante la utilización del disco ovalado de 4 mm, lo que incidió principalmente en una mayor sanidad y calidad de la fruta, durante el proceso productivo y en poscosecha
The world production of banana tree is considered in 41 million TM year with a surface of 2'159.218 has. This cultivation began more than 40 years ago in the Ecuador, being an important factor in the domestic agricultural development. Inside this cultivation the parameters of quality are key for the consumers, being necessary to implement protection methods to the fruit by means of the use of protective, which are manufactured by a sheet of polyethylene of closed cell. This investigation was carried out free in the Tropical Property with a floor type sandy and an altitude of 10.3 mls. This rehearsal was carried out in an established plantation of banana tree variety Cavendish with a 10 year old. The objectives were: i) Determine the influence of the protective disks in the prevention of bodily injuries of the hands of the banana tree clusters until their crop and packing. ii) Carry out the economic analysis of the relationship benefits cost. A Design of Complete Blocks was applied at random with 4 treatments and 4 repetitions. The treatments were: T1: Protective oval 3 mm; T2: Protective oval 4 mm; T3: Daypa and T4: Control. They were carried out variance analysis, tests of Tukey to 5% and economic. The main results obtained in this investigation were: The goods of the three types of protectors used in this investigation demonstrated a similar effect for the agronomic variables, but if they contributed to the sanitary quality of the fruit. Finally this investigation contributed to improve the use of the fruit through the protection of the cluster, by means of the use of the oval disk of 4 mm, what impacted mainly in a bigger sanity and quality of the fruit, during the trial productive and postharvest
