Los profesionales en endodoncia, se han visto vulnerables ante la exposición directa e indirecta de las secreciones respiratorias del paciente, por contacto con superficies o instrumentos contaminados, en el entorno dental. Al momento de accionar la turbina, se genera, una gran cantidad de aerosol o gotitas, que se mezcla con el agua, más la saliva, e incluso con sangre, los cuales quedan, suspendidos en el aire por un tiempo determinado. El objetivo del presente trabajo, es determinar el protocolo de bioseguridad en Endodoncia en tiempos de pandemia Covid-19. En esta investigación se comparó diferentes materiales desinfectantes y mecanismo de esterilización y se eligió lo más óptimos, para designarlos en el protocolo final. El diseño de esta investigación es bibliográfico, debido a que se explicará brevemente en base a una investigación de muchas fuentes en su mayoría actuales que hacen referencia al covid-19 y protocolos a seguir en el área de Endodoncia, se recopilaron alrededor de 87 fuentes de información científica, según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión fueron tomadas 70 para el desarrollo del marco teórico de las cuales el 92% (65 artículos) corresponde a los últimos 5 años. Es importante el uso de barreras físicas; como batas, mascarillas, guantes, gorros, y protectores faciales, además sin descuidar el lavado de manos con agua y jabón, mínimo 30 segundos. Se demostró que esterilizar con autoclave, previo a la desinfección con glutaraldehído, es el mecanismo completo de esterilización.
Endodontic professionals have been vulnerable to the direct and indirect exposure of the patient's respiratory secretions, by contact with contaminated surfaces or instruments, in the dental environment. when the turbine is activated, a large amount of aerosol is generated or droplets, which mix with water, plus saliva, and even with blood, which remain suspended in the air for a certain time. The objective of this work is to determine the endodontic biosafety protocol in times of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this research, different disinfectant materials and sterilization mechanisms were compared and the most optimal were chosen to designate them in the final protocol. The design of this research is bibliographic, because it will be briefly explained based on an investigation of many sources, mostly current, that refer to covid-19 and protocols to follow in the area of Endodontic, around 87 sources of Scientific information, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 70 were taken for the development of the theoretical framework, of which 92% (65 articles) correspond to the last 5 years. The use of physical barriers is important; such as gowns, masks, gloves, hats, and face shields, also without neglecting hand washing with soap and water, at least 30 seconds. It was shown that autoclaving, prior to disinfection with glutaraldehyde, is the complete sterilization mechanism.
