Evaluación técnica, socio-ambiental y económica del relleno sanitario Inga bajo

Description: The Inga Bajo Sanitary Landfill -RSIB-, implemented in 2003, is the first one built within the Metropolitan District of Quito after the closing of Zambiza garbage dump that operated for 25 years. This study (begun in February, 2005 until June, 2006) includes a technical, environmental, social and economic evaluation of the landfill, considering the legal dispositions inside the Unified Text of Environmental Secondary Legislation-TULAS. Among them, the RSIB is provided with a system of ground waterproofing and gas reception to minimize the contamination of the soil, water and air; 1’366.115 tons of garbage was dumped over 15 hectares of surface by the year 2005, serving more than two million inhabitants.
El Relleno Sanitario Inga Bajo RSIB, implementado en el 2003, es el primero que se ha construido dentro del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito después del cierre del Botadero de Zámbiza que operó por 25 años. Este estudio (iniciado en febrero del 2005 hasta junio del 2006) incluye una evaluación técnica, ambiental, social y económica del Relleno, considerando las disposiciones de ley dentro del Texto Unificado de Legislación Ambiental Secundaria TULAS. Entre ellas, el RSIB cuenta con un sistema de impermeabilización de fondo y captación de gases para minimizar la contaminación del suelo, agua y aire.
