Description

The project "Dance School and Theater” objective was to successfully place a dance school in the area of “La Mariscal”. The building would have an extensive program which includes: dance halls, rooms for students, theater, cafe, resource center, locker rooms, gymnasium and administration. The project is built around the urban needs, which was to generate as much public space, because one of the objectives was to integrate dancing with a large public space in the center of the project. Taking into account the earlier approach the building practically shaped itself. The surrounding buildings, pedestrian movement and proximity to the square of presidents were the most important elements that interact and react with the building.
El proyecto denominado “Escuela de Danza y Teatro” consistía en situar una escuela de danza de alto nivel en la zona de “La Mariscal”. El edificio tendría un extenso programa en el cual incluye: salones de danza, habitaciones para estudiantes, teatro, cafetería, centro de recursos, camerinos, gimnasio y administración. El proyecto se construye alrededor de la solución urbana, la cual consistía en generar mucho espacio publico, ya que uno de los objetivos era integrar la danza con un gran espacio publico situado en el centro del terreno. Tomando en cuenta el primer acercamiento el edifico se da forma a si mismo. Los edificios del entorno, el movimiento peatonal y la cercanía a la plaza de presidentes fueron los elementos mas importantes que se relacionan y reaccionan con el edificio.
