In fashion, one of the best strategies is to appeal to the desires and most primitive impulses of the human being. In first place, there is the need to belong, to be part of a group; second there is the need to show who I am and which is my socioeconomic position; and finally, there is sexuality. Normal Delusions: the idealization of fashion is an art installation that incorporates textiles, video and sound, in order to create a whole atmosphere and allow the viewer to experience the world of fashion. The project includes a dress made with 110 yards of fabric in which a video mapping is performed. The dress becomes a projection screen; audio-visual material includes the aforementioned topics and is made with appropriations of different videos which being put in a new space and in a different context, allow the audience to understand how the industry performs.
En la moda se apela a los deseos e impulsos más primitivos del ser humano, en primer lugar la necesidad de pertenencia, el estar “a la moda”, en segundo lugar la demostración de quién soy y el nivel en que me encuentro en la escala socioeconómica y finalmente la sexualidad. Delirios normales: la idealización de la moda, es una instalación artística que incorpora textiles, videos y sonido, con el objetivo de crear toda una atmósfera y hacer que el espectador se sumerja en el mundo de la moda. Se trata de un vestido hecho con 100 metros de tela, colgado a 5 metros de altura, en el cual se realiza un video mapping. El vestido se convierte en una pantalla de proyección, el material audiovisual incluye los temas antes mencionados y está realizado en base a apropiaciones de distintos videos que al ser puestos en un nuevo espacio y en un contexto diferente, permiten que el espectador se adentre en el funcionamiento de la industria.
