This paper aims to show how, between June 2013, when the LOC was approved, and today, the newspaper Extra transformed its editorial line and specifically its presentation of the red chronicle. Also, to present the history of the chronicle as a journalistic format, its arrival in Ecuador and understand the main characteristics that explain why Extra is the best-selling newspaper in the country. Additionally, design issues are discussed. This paper investigates how useful are the codes of ethics for the media and confirms the only change in content level that was modified. Throughout the work, the change in number of notes will be required in 2013, 2014 and 105. The order of the most treated sections in the six categories: judicial, police, entertainment, sport, variety and culture is also discussed. Finally, it is determined by the samples the specific language used to reach the popular actors, these being three: melodrama, sensationalism and amaryllis.
Este trabajo pretende mostrar cómo, en diferentes lapsos de tiempo desde junio de 2013 hasta hoy, cuando se aprobó la Ley Orgánica de Comunicación, cuando entró en vigencia su Reglamento y cuando los distintos medios han publicado sus códigos deontológicos, diario Extra ha transformado cuantitativa y cualitativamente la presentación de sus crónicas roja s de primera plana. Para ello, se registra un debate alrededor de la crónica roja como un género representativo de la prensa, se reconstruye la historia de Extra como el diario más vendido del país y se aplica una metodología de análisis de contenido a sus notas de portada. Se concluye que ha habido cambios de forma (número de letras) y de fondo (lenguaje melodramático). Varias tesis se han realizado sobre casos específicos, titulares y contenidos polémicos cubiertos por el diario. Finalmente, se espera analizar cómo el diario hace frente a sanciones y cuantas de ellas han sido justificadas.
