The objective of this study was to determinate the effect that different gravity forces (Fg) and centrifugation times, have on equine spermatozoal motility after cooled and storage for 24 hours. For this aim, two clinically healthy stallions, whose ages, condition, nutrition, management and semen aptitude to maintain spermatozoal motility after cooling and storage were similar, were used. There were made 14 semen collections for each horse, each one of these collections were designated in order for the 7 treatments (Treatment # 1: without centrifugation, Treatment # 2: 600 Fg for 5 min, Treatment # 3: 600 Fg for 10 min, Treatment # 4: 600 Fg for 15 min, Treatment # 5: 1000 Fg for 5 min, Treatment # 6: 600 Fg for 10 min, Treatment # 7: 600 Fg for 15 min).
El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el efecto que tienen diferentes fuerzas de centrifugación (Fg) y tiempos de centrifugación, sobre la motilidad espermática (MOT) del semen equino sometido a refrigeración por 24 horas. Para este efecto se utilizaron dos caballos machos enteros, clínica y reproductivamente sanos, cuyas edades, condición, alimentación, historial de manejo y actitud del semen para soportar procesos de refrigeración fueran muy similares. Se realizaron 14 colectas de cada caballo las cuales fueron asignadas sucesivamente para cada tratamiento; Tratamiento # 1: sin centrifugación, Tratamiento # 2: 600 Fg x 5min, Tratamiento # 3: 600 Fg x 10min, Tratamiento # 4: 600 Fg x 15min, Tratamiento # 5: 1000 Fg x 5min, Tratamiento # 6: 1000 Fg x 10min, Tratamiento # 7: 1000 Fg x 15min.
