Description

This architectural project consists in a Film Institute which uses as a thematic the “architectural montage”. It’s based on the study and analysis of the cinematographic mechanisms; focusing on the montage, key process of this art form, to interpret it in the architecture of this building. This structure is located in the educational zone of Northern Quito, giving to the metropolis a public space that frames the Villa Navarro, patrimony of the city. The program is divided in public-cultural and private-educational areas, distributed in a succession of bars that enclose the principal spaces in each part respectively and respects the rhythms and conditions of the site itself. This project aims to stimulate the spatial relations by generating a sequence of areas as the nature of cinema itself, which is based on the progression of images.
Este proyecto de diseño arquitectónico consiste en un Instituto de Cine, cuyo tema es el “montaje arquitectónico”. Está basado en el estudio y análisis de los mecanismos del séptimo arte; enfocándose en el montaje, como el proceso clave de esta actividad, para posteriormente interpretar este mecanismo del cine en la arquitectura del edificio. La obra se ubica en el sector universitario del Norte de Quito, brindándole a la urbe un espacio publico que enmarca la Villa Navarro, patrimonio de la ciudad. El programa se divide en una parte publica-cultural y otra privada-educativa, distribuidas en una sucesión de barras que abrazan los dos espacios principales de cada parte respectivamente y asimismo siguen los ritmos del terreno y sus características. Este proyecto trata de estimular la relación de espacios, generando una sucesión de los mismos como es la naturaleza del cine: una secuencia de imágenes.
