The project sets the construction of two different subsystems which work together to create a system. The complexity of their function relies on the fact that both need each other to perform the desired function. In this way, both can sustain each other. Public pools are part of a network of sport buildings that serve the citizens by providing the correct infrastructure for recreational activities. In the other hand, a water treatment plant is part of the cities hydraulic system and its importance relies on the fact that it cleans contaminated water and makes it again available for any use. When both are joined in the same project, the outcome is the creation of a small sustainable system. The goal of this project is to have a building that has the correct infrastructure for aquatic sports and at the same time have a water treatment plant that can make the building and its surroundings sustainable.
El proyecto propone la construcción de dos subsistemas diferentes pero que son interdependientes en cuanto a su funcionamiento. Al ser dependientes uno del otro hace que su sistema de funcionamiento sea más complejo y por lo tanto más eficiente. Solo de esta forma ambos pueden crear una red de servicios que puedan sustentarse el uno al otro. Las piscinas públicas son parte de una red de equipamientos deportivos que permiten que la ciudad pueda estar mejor servida en cuanto a infraestructura de recreación pública. Por otro lado, la planta de tratamiento corresponde a un subsistema del sistema hidráulico de la ciudad y su importancia está en que ayuda a reciclar el agua de los edificios y luego la vuelve a redistribuir. Cuando ambos se plantean en un mismo proyecto, el resultado es la creación de un pequeño sistema que trabaja para poder auto sustentarse. El proyecto al crear este sistema, aspira tener un equipamiento que pueda cumplir con las necesidades de la ciudadanía de tener un espacio con una infraestructura adecuada para su uso en competencias, entrenamiento o recreación acuática. Así mismo, el proyecto al tener una planta de tratamiento de agua, hace que el edificio y su entorno sean autosustentables.
