Trastorno de personalidad dependiente: manejo de la terapia utilizando terapia humanista con apoyo de terapia cognitiva

The present paper is a case of study which describes a psychological treatment of twenty year old female student (NN), whom searches for therapy in the free service of psychological therapies in the San Francisco de Quito University. The motive of consult was the break up with her boyfriend, which cause her a lot of pain that affects her social, family and student life. The patient was attended for one hour a week for approximately three months. She was evaluated by the DSM-IV and the SCL-90R. Under these evaluations, NN´s diagnostic was Dependent Personality Disorder (DPD). Her treatment was based on Humanistic Psychotherapy in combination with Behavior Psychotherapy. Gestalt techniques and Rational Emotion Behavior techniques were applied. The result indicates that the combination of humanistic therapy with gestalt techniques and behavior therapy had a positive effect in reduce bad symptoms and improve emotional health to the patient.
El presente trabajo describe el tratamiento psicológico de un caso de estudio de una paciente (NN), de veinte y un años, que acude a terapia, gracias al servicio gratuito de terapias psicológicas de la Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Su motivo de consulta fue por un rompimiento amoroso que le causaba demasiado dolor y afectaba tanto en su vida familiar, como estudiantil y social. La paciente fue atendida durante una hora semanal durante tres meses aproximadamente. Se evaluó a la paciente bajo criterios del DSM-IV y se aplicó el Inventario de Síntomas SCL-90R para registrar sus síntomas y mejoras. Bajo este criterio se le diagnosticó a la paciente en el eje II: Trastorno de Personalidad por Dependencia. El tratamiento psicológico que recibió NN estuvo basado desde la Teoría Humanista con apoyo de Teoría Cognitiva. Por tanto se utilizaron técnicas Gestalt y también razonamientos basados en la teoría racional emotivo conductual.
