Efectos de la inversión extranjera directa en Latinoamérica un análisis de panel

Description: The following work seeks to analyze how economic growth is inuenced by foreign direct investment inows. Panel data estimations are used in a sample that considers 18 countries from Latin America in a period of time that goes between 1970 and 2015. By using the Hausman test, _xed e_ects are chosen for the investigation. The data show that foreign direct investment has a positive and signi_cant e_ect on economic growth. In addition, alternative models have been used and determined that size of government has negative and signi_cant e_ect on growth; meanwhile, legal system and regulations (as Fraser Institute measures it) does not have any inuence on growth.
El siguiente trabajo busca analizar las actuaciones en el crecimiento económico en presencia de unos entrantes de inversión extranjera directa. Para esto se realizaron estimaciones con datos de panel en una muestra de 18 paises de Latinoamérica entre 1970 y 2015. A través del test de Hausman se resolvió usar efectos dos (xed efectos) y por lo tanto se descarta efectos aleatorios (rondón efectos). Se concluye que la inversión extranjera directa tiene un efecto positivo y signicativo en el crecimiento económico. Además, se realizaron modelos alternativos en el cual se determinó que el tamaño de gobierno afecta negativamente al crecimiento; mientras que, el sistema legal y las regulaciones (como lo mide el Fraser Institute) no presentan anuencia en el mismo.
