La absorción y/o fusión como factor determinante de sostenibilidad económica del sector cooperativo de Ambato

The cooperative sector today plays a very important role in the economic development of the country and in the redistribution of wealth generating financial inclusion, for this reason, in the face of unexpected closures of several cooperatives, the Superintendency of Popular and Solidarity Economy has seen the need to promote the integration of cooperatives through absorption or merger in order to soften competitiveness and reduce the number of cooperatives in liquidation, affecting not only the members but also the confidence of the other cooperatives and the control body . In this way, the objective of this research is to analyze the economic and social benefits for the economic sustainability of the cooperative sector. The methodology applied was direct interviews with the actors involved such as: the absorbing cooperative, the absorbed cooperative and the control body, from which they obtained very valuable qualitative information, with which, it was concluded that mergers by absorption planned and directed are positive for all involved because it safeguards the money of partners and investors, the market expands, the legal problems for the administered of the absorbed cooperatives are less conflictive and the market softens in the face of so much competition.
El sector cooperativo hoy en día juega un papel muy importante en el desarrollo económico del país y en la redistribución de la riqueza generando inclusión financiera, por tal motivo, ante inesperados cierres de varias cooperativas la Superintendencia de Economía Popular y Solidaria ha visto la necesidad de impulsar la integración de cooperativas a través de absorción o fusión con el fin de, suavizar la competitividad y reducir el número de cooperativas en liquidación, que afecta, no solo a los socios sino también a la confianza de las demás cooperativas y del órgano de control. De este modo, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar los beneficios económicos y sociales para la sostenibilidad económica del sector cooperativo. La metodología que se aplicó fue entrevistas directas con los actores involucrados como son: la cooperativa absorbente, la absorbida y el órgano de control, de lo cual se obtuvieron información cualitativa muy valiosa, para concluir que las fusiones por absorción bien planificadas y direccionadas son positivas para todos los implicados ya que se salvaguarda el dinero de los socios e inversionistas, se expande el mercado, los problemas legales para los administrados de las cooperativas absorbidas son menos conflictivas y se suaviza el mercado ante tanta competencia.
