The present research work is to analyze the financial efficiency of companies in the metal-mechanic sector of the Ambato canton of 2016, for which a comparative table of the efficiency indices of these companies is started, through the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). It is also intended to estimate the increase required in the output studied in each of the companies that present a deficiency in their management. Subsequently, it is attempted to verify statistically the efficiency that the sector has in the city of Ambato. The work was developed using the DEA model, a quantitative analysis of the purged accounts was carried out, since the information acquired is of a numerical type. As a result, it can be evidenced that the level of efficiency achieved by each entity depends a lot on the amount of inputs used in its activities and on the number of outputs obtained as a result, since of a total of 8 companies taken as object of study Only 3 of them managed to be 100% efficient in their management. To test statistically the efficiency of the sector, a hypothesis test (student) was applied, which allows to know if the industry is efficient, it is recognizable of what, certain group of companies increase their sales volumes to reach a full financial efficiency.
El presente proyecto de investigación tiene como finalidad analizar la eficiencia financiera de las empresas del sector metalmecánico del cantón Ambato del año 2016, para lo cual se empieza desarrollando un cuadro comparativo de los índices de eficiencia de dichas empresas, a través del Análisis Envolvente de Datos (DEA). También se pretende estimar el incremento requerido en el output estudiado en cada una de las compañías que presenten deficiencia en su gestión. Posteriormente, se intenta comprobar estadísticamente la eficiencia que posee el sector en la ciudad de Ambato. El trabajo se desarrolló mediante el modelo DEA, se realizó un análisis cuantitativo de las cuentas depuradas, ya que la información adquirida es de tipo numérico. Como resultado se puede evidenciar que el nivel de eficiencia alcanzado por cada entidad depende mucho de la cantidad de insumos empleados en sus actividades y de la cantidad de salidas que se obtenga como resultado, ya que de un total de 8 empresas tomadas como objeto de estudio tan solo 3 de ellas lograron ser eficientes al 100% en su gestión. Para comprobar estadísticamente la eficiencia del sector se aplicó una prueba de hipótesis t (student) que permite conocer si la industria es eficiente, es reconocible de qué, cierto grupo de empresas incrementen sus volúmenes de ventas para alcanzar una plena eficiencia financiera.
