El aporte que brinda la información sobre la Parálisis Cerebral Infantil Distónica es de gran importancia para la población debido a que requiere un manejo especial en todos los campos de salud por tratarse de un trastorno que afecta al control del movimiento, del tono y la postura, además suelen acompañarse de manifestaciones neurológicas como retardo mental, epilepsia, hipoacusia, parálisis ocular. Este trastorno afecta a nivel de ganglios basales y sus conexiones con la corteza prefrontal y premotora. Las manifestaciones más visibles son: movimientos involuntarios, lentos, serpenteantes, rítmicos con cambio en el tono, cambios constantes en la cara. Este trastorno no es progresivo y tampoco tiene cura, pero con la atención adecuada y a tiempo podemos ayudar al niño a llevar una vida más funcional, sobre todo evitar deformaciones musculoesqueléticas que son característicos de esta patología.

The most visible manifestations are: involuntary movements, slow, winding, rhythmic with change in tone, constant changes in the face. This disorder is not progressive and does not have a cure, but with the right care and time we can help the child to lead a more functional life, especially avoid musculoskeletal deformations that are characteristic of this pathology.
