Se ha realizado una investigación basada en la técnica de lectura “SQ3R” identificando el problema que los estudiantes de la “Unidad Temporal Bolívar” tienen al momento de comprender un texto en inglés, y posteriormente se planteó los objetivos que encaminaron a este trabajo, para de esta manera recabar toda la información necesaria que es expuesta en el marco teórico, el cual se basa en investigaciones realizadas con anterioridad. La modalidad de investigación de éste trabajo es de campo, ya que se establece una conexión directa con el objeto de estudio que son los estudiantes. Las encuestas a los estudiantes y la observación de clase al docente, ayudaron a comprobar el nivel de comprensión lectora y de lo difícil que para ellos es el entender nuevo vocabulario en contexto. Por otra parte, mediante el análisis de los resultados se pudo concluir que los estudiantes deberían utilizar una técnica actualizada que pueda ayudarles a comprender y entender diferentes lecturas en inglés. Por último, se realizó una propuesta que se basa en un libro de instrucciones que contiene lecturas del libro que los estudiantes utilizan durante todo el año escolar, pero con la utilización de la técnica "SQ3R" y un manual de instrucciones adicional para el profesor que permitirá guiar a los estudiantes en el manejo de ésta técnica con facilidad haciendo que en el futuro ellos la puedan manejar por si solos, no solo en las lectura del libro, sino también en cualquier lectura en inglés que se les presente.
There has been a research based on the technique "SQ3R" identifying the problem the students from the “Unidad Temporal Bolivar” have at the moment to understand a text in English, and later I set out some objectives for this work in order to obtain all the necessary information, which is exposed in the theoretical framework based on previous researches. I made a field research which consists in a direct connection with the students. The surveys made to the students and the class observation made to teacher helped to measure the reading comprehension level and how difficult it is for them to understand new vocabulary in context. Moreover, by analyzing the results I could conclude that the students should use an updated technique that can help them to understand different types of readings in English. Finally, I made a proposal based on an work book that contains readings from the book that students use throughout the school year but including the technique "SQ3R" and a guide for the teacher in order to help the students to manage this technique easily and in the future they will do it by themselves not only with that book but also with any reading in English.
