Late blight is the main disease that affects potatoes in Ecuador. Breeding efforts for obtaining improved potato varieties with resistance to late blight have been conducted mainly by the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIAP).
El tizón tardío es la principal enfermedad que afecta a las papas en Ecuador. Los esfuerzos de mejoramiento para obtener variedades mejoradas de papa con resistencia al tizón tardío han sido conducidos principalmente por el Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIAP).
