La Escuela Serena de las hermanas Cossettini. Un ejemplo de innovaci?n educativa a principios del siglo xx

Este art?culo pretende dar a conocer una experiencia educativa innovadora, incluso para nuestra ?poca, que fue protagonizada, pensada y aplicada por las hermanas Olga y Leticia Cossettini, en la provincia de Santa fe, en la Rep?blica de Argentina. Su Escuela Serena, como la llamaron, rompi? el paradigma educativo de una ?poca en la que el conductismo dominaba el sistema educativo, no solo en Argentina, sino en toda Am?rica Latina. Para conocer esta experiencia se ha recurrido a la consulta de material bibliogr?fico, documentos testimoniales conservados en videos y varios art?culos alusivos al tema, lo que ha permitido enterarse y comprender la metodolog?a de esta escuela ? creada por mujeres en un mundo de hombres, durante las primeras d?cadas del siglo XX? que contribuy? a cambiar el pensamiento social de una ?poca y a generar procesos de ense?anza integrales para propiciar aprendizajes significativos. Este ejemplo de innovaci?n educativa mantiene vigencia, puesto que el objetivo de la ense?anza actual se orienta a potenciar las habilidades y aptitudes de los estudiantes, en contextos flexibles que sirvan de base y sustento para desarrollar un aprendizaje significativo
TThis article aims to present an innovative educational experience, even for our time, despite it had its heyday at the beginning of the 20th century, when it was conducted, designed, and applied by sisters Olga and Leticia Cossettini, at Santa Fe province, Argentina. Their Escuela Serena (Serene School), as they call it, broke an educational paradigm in a time when behaviorism dominated the educational system, not only in Argentina. To learn about this experience, bibliographical material has been consulted, testimonial accounts preserved in videos, several writings alluding to the subject, which has allowed the understanding of the methodology of this school ?created by women in a world of men during the first decades of the 20th century?, which contributed to changing the social thinking of an era and allocating comprehensive educational processes to generate significant learning. This type of educational innovation remains valid, since the objective of current teaching is aimed at enhancing students? skills and aptitude, in flexible contexts which serve as basis and support to develop meaningful learning.
