La Constituci?n de la Rep?blica del Ecuador 2008 establece a la educaci?n como un derecho ineludible. Las personas, las familias y la sociedad en general tienen el derecho y la responsabilidad de participar en el proceso educativo. En este sentido, surge la necesidad de conocer ?c?mo propiciar la participaci?n de la familia en el proceso de ense?anza-aprendizaje (PEA) de los estudiantes del 4to a?o de Educaci?n B?sica de la Unidad Educativa Isaac A. Chico? Las teor?as referenciales son: La teor?a sociocultural de Vygotsky (1896-1934) en cuanto al aprendizaje mediante la interacci?n social. Las Tecnolog?as de la Informaci?n y Comunicaci?n (TIC) seg?n Belloch Ort? (2012) como canal de comunicaci?n para lograr la participaci?n de la familia en el PEA. Esta investigaci?n se enmarca en el paradigma socio-critico, enfocado en una investigaci?n de tipo cualitativa. Para la obtenci?n de informaci?n se usaron t?cnicas como: la observaci?n participante, grupos focales y la entrevista estructurada y semiestructurada. Como instrumentos de recolecci?n de datos seg?n Palella & Martins (2012), se us? el diario de campo y la encuesta aplicada a padres de familia y representantes de los estudiantes. Se concluy? con la aplicaci?n de una estrategia pedag?gica usando el WhatsApp como canal de comunicaci?n para lograr la participaci?n de la familia en el proceso de ense?anza-aprendizaje.
The Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador of 2008 establishes education as an unavoidable right. Individuals, families and society in general have the right and responsibility to participate in the educational process. In this sense, there is a need to know how to promote the participation of the family in the teaching-learning process (PEA) of the students in their 4th year of Basic Education at Isaac A. Chico School. The referential theories are the following: the sociocultural theory of Vygotsky (1896-1934), in terms of learning through social interaction; and the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), according to Belloch Ort? (2012), as a communication channel to achieve the participation of the family in the PEA. This research is part of the socio-critical paradigm, focused on qualitative research. In order to obtain information, techniques were used such as participant observation, focus groups and the structured and semi-structured interview. As instruments of data collection, according to Palella & Martins (2012), the field diary and the survey applied to parents and student representatives were used. It was concluded with the application of a pedagogical strategy using WhatsApp as a communication channel to achieve the participation of the family in the teaching-learning process.
