Description

The project is part of the research line Education for Inclusion and Human Sustainability, focused on meeting the psychomotor needs manifested in students through Waldorf pedagogy, since, it is a fundamental entity in the development of the child, both emotionally, socially, cognitively and psychomotorly; addition, an intervention is essential to respond to diversity in function of life. Following internships at the Centro de Desarrollo Infantile (CEDIN DOWN), through Participatory Action research (PAR) with teachers, therapists, volunteers and students, four students between four to eight years old with Down syndrome who present psychomotor difficulties were declared as a sample; among them, dynamic balance, manual coordination, motor coordination, force control and pressure when drawing or scribbling. Based on this, the question was raised, how to enhance motor skills in children with CEDIN DOWN syndrome? Belonging to the Huiracocha Tutiv?n foundation. Therefore, the research aims to propose a strategy based on Waldorf pedagogy from artistic painting, to enhance psychomotor skills in children with Down syndrome from CEDIN DOWN; for this, the theoretical references that support the research were investigated and techniques and instruments were applied for the collection and analysis of information. The results of the application of the strategy responded satisfactorily to the integral development of the child, in motor, social, emotional and cognitive aspects, with a significant contribution to life with greater participation in society.
