La lectura constituye una de las principales herramientas que posee el ser humano para acceder al mundo del conocimiento y del entretenimiento, pero sucede que muchas veces esta funci?n no es utilizada en toda su dimensi?n por la falta de pr?ctica o desconocimiento para utilizarla correctamente; este es uno de los casos que se presenta entre las personas que cursan el nivel de bachillerato y se encuentran privadas de su libertad en el centro de privaci?n de Turi de la ciudad de Cuenca-Ecuador. En virtud de lo manifestado, la presente investigaci?n busc? indagar acerca de esta problem?tica con las personas inmersas en esta situaci?n, para lo cual se plante? un estudio cualitativo, con una metodolog?a de investigaci?n-acci?n y como instrumento se recurri? al uso de la entrevista y encuesta. Los resultados alcanzados, demostraron que existen muchas falencias en este campo, entre los que sobresale la falta de material de lectura acorde a sus intereses, desconocimiento de t?cnicas y m?todos de lectura. Para suplir dichas deficiencias, se presenta una propuesta metodol?gica con alternativas de soluci?n, la misma que contiene actividades interactivas y motivantes para captar la atenci?n de este grupo de personas. Se debe anotar que dicha propuesta pas? por una fase de validaci?n con expertos en las diferentes ?reas relacionadas con la misma, con lo que se garantiza su fiabilidad.
Reading is one of the main tools that the human being possesses to access the world of knowledge and entertainment, but it often happens that this function is not used in its entirety due to lack of practice or ignorance to use it correctly; This is one of the cases that occurs among people who are in high school and are deprived of their liberty in the Turi deprivation center in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador. By virtue of what was stated, the present investigation sought to inquire about this problem with the people immersed in this situation, for which a qualitative study was proposed, with an action-research methodology and as an instrument the use of the interview and poll. The results achieved showed that there are many shortcomings in this field, among which the lack of reading material according to their interests, ignorance of reading techniques and methods stands out. To make up for these deficiencies, a methodological proposal with solution alternatives is presented, which contains interactive and motivating activities to capture the attention of this group of people. It should be noted that said proposal went through a validation phase with experts in the different areas related to it, thus guaranteeing its reliability.
