Aim: Although women tend to live longer than men, they are more prone to a poorer overall health status or frailty. Several factors have been considered that could explain why women are more frail than men, among others the decreased hormonal production associated with older age. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore the association of sexual hormones and menopausal status with frailty.
