The way in which humans perceive and interact with artifacts in urban public space is subject to many extraneous variables, which must be explored by interaction designers in favor of offering services that suit the environment and the people in it. This esearch extends the current knowledge concerning the influence of social context on participation and data disclosure with interactive artifacts in public space. For understanding this phenomenon, an interactive artifact was produced with the intention to integrate design in research and practice. A field study was conducted, setting up the artifact on public space.
