El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó en el Hospital Gineco-Obstétrico Isidro Ayora con el objetivo de identificar el número de mujeres en edad reproductiva portadoras del Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH) coinfectadas con el Virus Papiloma Humano (VPH), la metodología utilizada fue de recolección de datos mediante un cuestionario. El estudio se realizó con 184 casos que corresponde a un 0,82% de la población Ecuatoriana en el cuál se pudo identificar que el 40% de las pacientes VIH positivo cursan entre la edad de 20-25 años, el 58% inició de su vida sexual entre los 15-17 años, el 57% estado civil de Unión Libre, su educación es media, el 71% de estas pacientes son amas de casa, mediante el estudio citológico e histopatológico se pudo identificar que el 23.3% de las pacientes inmuno deprimidas estuvieron co infectadas con el Virus Papiloma Humano (VPH).
The current research work was conducted in Hospital Gíneco-Obstétrico Isidro Ayora in order to identify the amount of women in childbearing potential with Human Inmunodeficiency Virus (HIV), co-infected with Human Papilloma Virus (HPV); questionnaire, was the preferred methodology. The study was conducted with 184 cases, accounting for 0.82% of the Ecuadorian population, where 40% of patients were found positive to HIV, aged from 20 to 25 yer, 58% started their sexual life between 15-17 years of age, 57% of them were in free Union, their average educational status was high school, 71% of such patients are housewives. Through a cytological and histopathological it was identified that 23.3% of immune-depressed patients were co-infected with Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
