El presente proyecto de investigación se trata de un estudio realizado en la Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil para conocer las causas de emprendimiento y la sostenibilidad de los negocios puestos en marcha por la comunidad de graduados de las Facultades de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas y de Especialidades Empresariales de los años 2014, 2015 y 2016. Para la presente investigación se revisó literatura concerniente a las teorías del emprendimiento de autores como Knight, Schumpeter, Freire y Gibb, para definir el perfil del emprendedor universitario, la teoría de Lean Start-ups, para tomar como base teórica sobre las características de la innovación de los start-ups y ciertos estudios sobre los años de vida que determinan la sostenibilidad, para tener como base de estudio. Se consideró una población de 1216 graduados, trabajando con 70 casos válidos a partir de la muestra establecida por conveniencia, por la limitante de tiempo y acceso a información actualizada. Se creyó conveniente realizar una entrevista a profundidad a 10% de los encuestados, es decir a 7 emprendedores para conocer su percepción sobre las variables. Mediante la herramienta estadística de chi cuadrado se estableció si existía o no relación entre ciertas variables estudiadas y a través de un cuadro de atributos, se estableció un consolidado de variables en común entre las respuestas de las entrevistas. Finalmente, se estableció el escenario y el entorno de los emprendimientos, para dejar conclusiones que consoliden la información revisada y recomendaciones para una indagación más profunda en futuras investigaciones.
This research project is a study conducted at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil to learn about the causes of entrepreneurship and sustainability of the businesses set up by the community of graduates of the Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Business Specialties in the years 2014, 2015 and 2016. For this research, it was considered to review theories of entrepreneurship of authors such as Knight, Schumpeter, Freire and Gibb to define the profile of the university entrepreneur. It was studied the theory of Lean Start-ups, to take it as a theoretical basis on the characteristics of innovation of start-ups. Finally, it was determined to consider certain studies on the years of life of a business, that determine sustainability. A population of 1216 graduates was chosen, working with a sample for convenience of 70 valid cases, due to the limitation of access to updated information. Furthermore, it was necessary to carry out an in-depth interview with 10% of those surveyed, which means 7 entrepreneurs, to analyze their perception of the variables. Using the chisquare statistical tool, it was established whether or not there was a relationship between certain variables studied, and through a table of attributes, it was established a consolidation of variables with the common answers of the interviews. Finally, it was established the scenario and environment of the entrepreneurships, to leave conclusions that consolidate the information and recommendations for further research.
