La universidad, dentro de su misión está generar y difundir la ciencia y la tecnología. Bajo esta premisa, se está desarrollando el uso de técnicas nuevas e innovadoras que aprovechen el potencial del estudiante y actúen en beneficio de la propia entidad. Las visitas o tours guiados, son recorridos que destacan puntos específicos dentro de una institución y que de esta manera la persona pueda llegar a mentalizar una síntesis del lugar visitado sin necesidad de recorrerlo a fondo. En este trabajo de titulación se juntaron el empleo de técnicas innovadoras open source y las visitas guiadas para realizar la implementación de una aplicación de realidad aumentada, la cual podrá mapear puntos predefinidos con reconocimiento de imagen y ofrecerá, a través de un dispositivo celular con sistema operativo Android, un tour por la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil para mejorar la imagen al público.
The university, within its mission is to generate and disseminate science and technology. Under this premise, the use of new and innovative techniques that take advantage of the potential of the student and act in benefit of the entity itself is being developed. Visits or guided tours are tours that highlight specific points within an institution and that in this way the person can get to mentalize a synthesis of the place visited without having to go through it thoroughly. In this titling work the use of innovative open source techniques and guided visits were combined to implement the implementation of an augmented reality application, which will be able to map predefined points with image recognition and offer, through a cellular device with operating system Android, a tour by the Faculty of Engineering of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil to improve the image to the public.
