Description

Corn is an agricultural product that is produced the most in the world, due to its nutritional qualities for the production of animal protein, human consumption and industrial use, it has become one of the most important products in international markets. In Ecuador, around 187,521 hectares of corn are grown annually, covering 54,858 Agricultural Production Units UPAs, with an average yield of 2.6 t / ha. In the Santa Fe parish, agricultural activity constitutes an important part of the income of the economically active population. Corn cultivation involves a series of steps necessary to achieve its harvest. From the sowing and subsequent harvest, to the sale to intermediaries or distributors, corn requires plowing techniques, the quality of the seed or the frequency of application of fertilizers, fungicides and herbicides, can cause a problem in the efficiency of the production processes The proposed objectives were: i) Identify the agricultural production units that are dedicated to the cultivation of soft corn in the Santa Fe parish. ii) Carry out the georeferencing and socio-productive and economic characterization of the soft corn production systems. iii) Define the technological package used in the cultivation of soft corn (Zea mays. l), and socialization of the results. The methodology of the survey, rapid rural diagnosis and the interview with a pre-established questionnaire, with open and closed questions, the sample was made up of the universe and the analysis was used Descriptive Statistics with the Excel program; Among the main results is that 67% are carried out by men and 33% by women, which shows that the man is the one who directs the UPAs. In the study area, most of the soils are owned by their own, 48% and 29% are leased land for the cultivation of soft corn, and 23% belong to people who own land, but also rent. The producers use seed improved with 77% the Guagal 111 variety due to its adaptation to the climatic conditions of the sector, the products do not use the same technological package is very varied, which are mostly recommended by the owners of the shops of agricultural inputs, there are around 606 maize production units with an average of 0.37 hectares with a mapped area of 224.5679
El maíz es un producto agrícola que más se produce en el mundo, debido a sus cualidades alimenticias para la producción de proteína animal, el consumo humano y el uso industrial se ha convertido en uno de los productos más importantes en los mercados internacionales. En el Ecuador, anualmente se cultivan alrededor de 187.521 has de maíz que cubren 54.858 Unidad de Producción Agropecuaria UPAs, con un rendimiento promedio de 2,6 t/has. En la parroquia Santa Fe la actividad agrícola constituye una parte importante de los ingresos de la población económicamente activa el cultivo de maíz conlleva una serie de pasos necesarios para lograr su cosecha. Desde la siembra y posterior cosecha, hasta la venta a intermediarios o distribuidores, el maíz precisa de técnicas de arado, la calidad de la semilla o la frecuencia de la aplicación de fertilizantes, fungicidas y herbicidas, pueden provocar una problemática en la eficiencia de los procesos de producción Los objetivos planteados fueron: i) Identificar las unidades de producción agropecuaria que se dedican al cultivo de maíz suave en la parroquia Santa Fe. ii) Efectuar la georreferenciación y caracterización socio productivo y económico de los sistemas de producción de maíz suave. iii) Definir el paquete tecnológico utilizado en el cultivo de maíz suave (Zea mays. l), y socialización de los resultados. Se aplicó la metodología del sondeo, diagnóstico rural rápido y la entrevista con un cuestionario pre establecido, con preguntas abiertas y cerradas la muestra estuvo constituida por el universo y el análisis se utilizó Estadística Descriptiva con el programa Excel; entre los principales resultados esta que el 67% lo realizan los hombres y 33% mujeres lo cual demuestra que el varón es quien dirige las UPAs. En el área de estudio, la mayoría de los suelos tienen dueño propio el 48% y 29% son tierras arrendadas para el cultivo de maíz suave, y el 23% pertenece a personas que son dueños de tierras, pero también arriendan. Los productores utilizan semilla mejorada con un 77% la variedad Guagal 111 por su adaptación a las condiciones climáticas del sector, los productos no utilizan el mismo paquete tecnológico es muy variado, los cuales son recomendados en su mayoría por los dueños de los locales de expendio de insumos agrícolas, existen alrededor de 606 unidades de producción de maíz con un promedio de 0,37 has con una área mapeada de 224,5679.
