This research had as its general objective, to understand the traditional game of the spinning top as an expression of the cultural patrimony of the urban area of Cotacachi for its safeguard, patrimony belonging to all the cotacacheños and cotacacheñas. The research is based on the theoretical methodological rationale posed by the different authors. The methodology used in this research was the collection, analysis and interpretation of the results of the independent variables, the spinning game and dependent, patrimonial expression. This research was descriptive non-experimental method that is characterized by field work and direct contact with the subjects of research in a natural environment and the synthetic analytical method that allows the analysis of the data found by disaggregating the phenomenon in its parts. It was used for the analysis of results and the interpretation of the interviews.
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general, Comprender el tradicional juego del trompo como expresión del patrimonio cultural de la zona urbana de Cotacachi para su salvaguarda, patrimonio perteneciente a todos los cotacacheños y cotacacheñas. La investigación parte de la fundamentación teórico metodológica planteada por los diferentes autores. La metodología utilizada en esta investigación fue la recolección, análisis e interpretación de los resultados de las variables independiente, el juego del trompo y dependiente, expresión patrimonial. Esta investigación fue de carácter descriptivo no experimental método que se caracteriza por el trabajo de campo y el contacto directo con los sujetos de investigación en un medio natural y el método analítico sintético que permite el análisis de los datos encontrados mediante la desagregación del fenómeno en sus partes. Fue utilizado para el análisis de resultados y la interpretación de las entrevistas.
