Considering that the rates of employment, unemployment and underemployment are not sufficient to determine the employment status of society fully, this work creates an Employment Quality Index (ICE) for the urban area of Ecuador for the years 2010 and 2012, based on the methodology used by Villacorta at work on job quality presented by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics of Peru (INEI), which considers four dimensions: income, mode of recruitment, affiliation health insurance and the number of hours worked. In addition, ICE is calculated for salaried and non-salaried, it identifies the economic industry that reports the highest and lowest ICE, and there is a comparison of the indicator with the results obtained by job satisfaction in the National Survey employment, Unemployment and Underemployment (ENEMDU).
Al considerar que las tasas de empleo, desempleo y subempleo no son suficientes para determinar la situación la laboral de la sociedad a plenitud, el presente trabajo crea un Índice de Calidad de Empleo (ICE) correspondiente al área urbana del Ecuador para los años 2010 y 2012, teniendo como base la metodología utilizada por Villacorta en el trabajo sobre calidad de empleo presentado por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática del Perú (INEI); el cual considera cuatro dimensiones: el ingreso, la modalidad de contratación, la afiliación a un seguro de salud y el número de horas trabajadas. Además, se calcula el ICE para asalariados y no asalariados, se identifica las ramas de actividad económica que reportan el más alto y el más bajo ICE, y se realiza una comparación del indicador con los resultados obtenidos respecto a satisfacción laboral en la Encuesta Nacional de Empleo, Desempleo y Subempleo (ENEMDU).
