Description: The continuous searching of the best procedures capable of generating an effective and trustable adhesion of restoring material to dental surface, is now one of the most important objective in nowadays dentistry. By the time, the etching system was described by Buonocore in 1955, there have been different surface pretreatments proposed to be done before the application of adhesive systems. By the observations made at the SEM, this investigation pretended to determinate the modifications of the enamel surface by the deproteinization process obtained during 5.25 % Sodium Hypochlorite application for 60 seconds, compared to the conventional 15 seconds etching process.
La búsqueda por establecer los mejores procedimientos capaces de lograr una efectiva y confiable adhesión de los materiales restauradores a la superficie dentaria constituye un objetivo constante de la Odontología actual. A partir del grabado ácido descrito por Buonocore en 1955, se han sugerido distintos tratamientos en la superficie del esmalte previo a la aplicación de sistemas adhesivos. Este estudio pretendió a través de observaciones al MEB, determinar las características topográficas y modificación de la superficie del esmalte tras la desproteinización por medio de la aplicación de Hipoclorito de Sodio al 5.25% durante 60 segundos comparándolo a la aplicación convencional de ácido fosfórico por 15 segundos.
