Many people ignore it, and others just shape to it. Street harassment is a current social problem that is defined as a sexual or demeaning approach as kissing, whistling, sexual sounds, obscene words, and any action taken by strangers who intimidates an individual. These actions come from a predisposition that the victim is circumstantially vulnerable, therefore a dangerous response will never be received. Today, many people call this sexism, chauvinism and many talk about feminism, but the cause of this phenomenon is reduced to a single term: respect. This research will test the existence of this problem and will seek to not feed the gender gap, but to reduce it to form a community of respect in public spaces. The methodology applied in this work is to use a comparative research, which establishes two currents where any particular gender is defended, attacked or victimized. However, there is a contrast of different positions that are proposed to provide tools for a healthy and respectful gender discussion.
Muchas personas lo ignoran, y otras se conforman. Pero el acoso callejero es una problemática social actual que se define como una aproximación sexual o denigrante a través de besos, silbidos, sonidos sexuales, palabras obscenas, y cualquier acción realizada por extraños que intimide a una persona. Estas acciones vienen de una predisposición a pensar que la víctima es circunstancialmente vulnerable y que nunca se recibirá una respuesta peligrosa ya que viene en desventaja. Hoy en día muchos lo llaman machismo y se habla mucho del feminismo, pero la causa de este fenómeno se reduce a un solo término: el respeto. En esta investigación se probará la existencia de este problema y se pretenderá no alimentar la brecha entre géneros, si no reducirla para formar una comunidad de respeto en los espacios púbicos. La metodología que se aplica en este trabajo es la de usar una investigación comparativa, que establezca dos corrientes donde no se defiende, se ataca o se victimiza a un género en especial, si no que se plantean distintas posiciones que provean herramientas para tener discusiones saludables y respetuosas entre géneros.
