Intervene within the city is responding with architecture at the time face up to the formality of life. What raises the project as a typological approach around the formal structure, as essential property of the architectural object, using the idea of type (universal ideas) and the relationship of the project to reality, referring to the concept of theme, as living conditions, site and technique. The chosen study area responds to conditions to explore the creation of a Judicial Unit in Quito, which arises from the idea of relating two contradictory matters, both the formal unity implied in the typology of a palace (compartmentalized classroom), such as the functional complexity of a justice building, where for security reasons is required a system of organization and a complex scheme of circulations. So the idea of the project is to generate a transformation of what was a courthouse, the new Court Building making an important node within the city.
Intervenir dentro de la ciudad es responder con arquitectura al momento de enfrentarnos a la formalidad de la vida. Por lo que se plantea el proyecto como una aproximación tipológica en torno a la estructura formal, como propiedad esencial del objeto arquitectónico, mediante la idea de tipo (ideas universales) y la relación del proyecto con la realidad, refiriéndose al concepto de tema, es decir condiciones de vida, sitio y técnica. La zona de estudio escogida responde a las condiciones para explorar la creación de una Unidad Judicial en Quito, la cual surge de la idea de relacionar dos asuntos contradictorios, tanto la unidad formal implícita en la tipología de un palacio (aula compartimentada), como la complejidad funcional de un edificio de justicia, donde por motivos de seguridad se requiere un sistema de organización y un esquema de circulaciones complejo. Por lo cual la idea del proyecto es generar una transformación de lo que era un palacio de justicia, haciendo del nuevo edificio judicial un nodo importante dentro de la ciudad.
