The discovery of new applications, different from the predestined objective of the drugs already established, is increasingly. In this sense, isoprinosine (IP) is an immunomodulatory agent with antiviral activity and in the present study we analyzed if it could have a possible antibacterial activity. For this, isoprinosine was administered in equivalent doses of 1500 mg, 2000 mg and 3000 mg daily intragastrical for 21 days to 3 groups (B, A, M) of mice and then they were subjected to an immunological challenge by administration 1 mg of attenuated Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG vaccine) as well as group 4 (C) without any prior treatment...
El descubrimiento de nuevas aplicaciones, distintas al objetivo predestinado de los fármacos ya establecidos cada vez es más frecuente. En este sentido, el isoprinosine (IP) es un agente inmunomodulador con actividad antiviral y en el presente estudio se analizó su posible actividad antibacteriana. Para ello, se suministró isoprinosine en dosis equivalentes a 1500 mg, 2000 mg y 3000 mg al día por vía intragástrica durante 21 días a 3 grupos (B, A, M) de ratones y luego se los sometió a un reto inmunológico mediante la administración de 1 mg de bacilo atenuado de Calmette-Guerin (vacuna BCG) al igual que un grupo 4 (C) sin ningún tratamiento previo...
