La presente investigación, se llevó a cabo en el ciclo del cultivo 2011 -2012, en la localidad de Sección Oriental de la Estación Experimental Santa catalina del INIAP - ubicada en la Parroquia de Cutuglagua del cantón Mejía de la provincia de Pichincha, corresponde a la zona de vida Montano Templado Frió (M.T.F.) ubicado a una altura de 2820 m, el promedio anual de precipitación de 620 mm, con una temperatura que fluctúa entre 12° y 19°C. El objetivo general para la investigación fue: Evaluar dos fuentes y en tres niveles de abonos orgánicos en la productividad del maíz (Zea mayz L.) variedad INIAP-102. Para el análisis de variables en estudio se utilizó, el diseño de Bloques Completos al Azar, con un arreglo factorial, (2x3+3) para un total de nueve tratamientos con tres repeticiones dando como resultado 27 unidades experimentales. En la presente investigación se determinó que el promedios general de extracción de nutrientes por hectárea, por el cultivo de maíz con la variedad INIAP 102 Blanco blandito es de: N 118 kg/ha; P 32 kg/ha; K 132 kg/ha; Mg 13 kg/ha y S 10.3 kg/ha.
